Karnataka State Open University is a state public distance learning university which was established in 1992 and it started offering admission from the session 1996-97. KSOU Distance Education Admission Process 2024

Before submitting an application form candidates are required to pay an application fee that ranges from INR 550 to INR 800 depending on the level of program. As per the rules, if students want to change the course or medium they shall apply for change within the last date of registration procedure with a penalty fee of INR 1000. 

KSOU Distance Education UG Admission 2024

At Karnataka State Open University distance education, students can find various undergraduate courses. KSOU offers courses like BCA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BSW, and BA covering specializations like BSc in Information Technology. The university offers both English and Kannada as a medium of learning. Undergraduate courses at this university usually last for 3 years and courses offered are annual and semester based. KSOU Distance Education PG Admission 2024

Karnataka State Open University‘s distance education offers PG programs for aspiring students. Admission for these programs is ongoing for the academic session 2024-25. Courses offered under the PG program are MBA, MCom, MSc, MA, MCA, and MSW. The duration of the PG program is 2 years divided into 4 semesters. Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Earth Science, Ancient History & Archaeology, Political Science, Public Administration, History, Telugu, and Data Science are some of the specializations which come under the PG program.

To be admitted to the PG programs, students must hold a UG degree in the relevant subject. The complete fee structure of the PG program ranges between INR 9000 to INR 27000, depending on the specific course. INR 800 is the enrollment fee that beads to be paid while taking admission.

KSOU MA 2024 Admission 

KSOU (Karnataka State Open University) closed the portal for admission to Master of Arts (MA) covering several specializations through distance mode.  Following disciplines offered through MA program are Kannada, History, Sociology, Telugu, Public Administration, Education, Urdu, Sanskrit, etc. MA program offered through distance mode lasts for 2 years offering 4 semesters.  

The qualification for admission is to hold a degree in any specialization from a recognized university. A minimum of 50% marks is needed for admission. The deadline for admission was set to be 15 November 2024.  KSOU MA admission fee is set to be INR 11000. 

KSOU Diploma Admission 2024

Students seeking admission to Diploma courses can choose to apply for streams like Diploma in Journalism, Nutrition and Health Education, Information Technology, Computer Application, Early childhood care and Education, Translation Studies, etc. Admission to Diploma program was offered to candidates until 15 November 2024. 1 year is the duration required to complete the Diploma program at KSOU. 

Students have to deposit an amount of INR 5800-16500 annually as an admission fee of various diploma programs. Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination conducted by recognized boards of examination can get admission to KSOU. For more details please visit the KSOU portal. 

Karnataka State Open University Courses Fees

Candidates who wish to seek admission at Karnataka State Open University can choose to apply for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Certificate programs through distance mode. Admission is offered only through online mode. After successfully submitting an online application, candidates shall pay a specific course fee through online mode. The various modes of payment made available for students are credit/debit card, UPI, RTGS, NEFT, Mobile wallet, etc. Some of the additional fees that are charged by the university along with the tuition fees are library, laboratory, study material, and examination fees. KSOU admission fee for all programs ranges between INR 5800 to INR 27000. However, the examination fee charged by KSOU is INR 900 to 6400 depending on different course levels.
