SGOU Distance Education Admission 2024-25: Sreenarayanaguru Open University is now accepting online applications for undergraduate and postgraduate level programs for July session 2024-25. Admission procedure through distance mode has been extended to 31 August 2024. It’s mandatory for candidate to score qualifying marks in their previous qualifying examination. Enrollment in any course is entirely based on merit at SGOU. Any candidates who are interested in enrolling in any desired program shall apply before the due date. It’s necessary to ensure that students meet all basic eligibility criteria set by university for admission in a selected course. Online application form for admission is provided through admission portal of SGOU @sgou.ac.in. 

About University: Sreenarayanaguru Open University (SGOU) was established as a state open university in the year 2020. Located in Kollam, Kerala it is the first open university of Kerala. In the year 2021, this university was approved by UGC (University Grant Commission). At present, SGOU is offering 28 UGC-approved academic programs spread across 16 undergraduate and 12 postgraduate programs.

Sreenarayanaguru Open University through distance education provides admission to several variety of courses under UG and PG programs. To get admission to any of these courses, candidates need to meet university’s eligibility criteria. SGOU does not accept any entrance exam for any of its courses. Admission is granted by SGOU based on merit. Admission will be offered by university both online and offline. Online enrollment procedure is easy for any students who are interested in pursuing further studies at this university. Candidates can apply till the last date of 31 August 2024. Upon submission of an application form candidates have to pay an application fee of INR 350. 

SGOU UG Admission 2024 

Undergraduate courses offered through distance education usually last for 3 years with 6 semesters. Some special undergraduate courses last for 4 years spread across 8 semesters. A different variety of disciplines are offered through undergraduate programs some of them include Arabic Language & Literature, Computer Applications, Finance/Co-operation, Sociology, etc. Multiple courses offered at Sreenarayanaguru Open University are BA, BBA, BCom, and BCA. 

Admission to UG level program is already ongoing, and last date to apply is 31 August 2024. A minimum eligibility criterion for undergraduate specialized courses is to complete 10+2 with minimum marks of 45% from an authorized university. To register candidates have to pay an application fee of INR 350. UG’s average fee structure at SGOU is INR 3000 to INR 23300 depending on different courses. 

SGOU PG Admission 2024 

A specialized postgraduate courses offered for candidates at Sreenarayanaguru Open University are MA and MCom. A variety of disciplines offered under postgraduate programs are Public Administration, Political Science, Sanskrit Language & Literature, Philosophy, etc. Master’s course lasts for 2 years with 4 semesters. SGOU is currently offering admission to candidates who want to enroll in any postgraduate program for academic session 2024-25. PG program deadline is set to be 31 August 2024. 

Merit-based admissions are offered for courses like MCom and MA. Applicants are mandated to have a UG degree in a relevant subject with 50% marks before applying for a PG course. An average fee structure for PG programs is INR 10100 to INR 32200. Additionally, INR 350 is an application fee for PG courses.
