Pondicherry University Distance Education 2024: Pondicherry University has started offering admission from 22 July 2024 for all distance learning programs. For the academic cycle 2024-25, the university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and PG diploma programs that cover various specializations. The university has announced 15 November 2024 as the expected deadline for enrollment to any distance mode program. The selection of any program is done based on the merit. Students can go through admission criteria, fee structure, and admission process by downloading the application prospectus. For enrollment to a desired course, students should fill out a registration form by going to the PU’s official website @dde.pondiuni.edu.in.  

About Pondicherry University

Pondicherry University also known as PU was founded in the year 1985. This is a central research university situated in Kalapet, Pondicherry. From academic session 1995-96 this university started offering distance learning courses. Currently, 20 courses run under undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Distance learning programs are offered under two modes namely Conventional Mode and Twinning Mode. Multiple courses offered through distance mode are recognized by UGC-DEB (University Grant Commission-Distance Education Bureau). Moreover, this university has been granted an A+ grade by NAAC. As per the NIRF ranking, PU stands between 101-151 position among all Indian universities.

Pondicherry University distance education offers several courses under Postgraduate, Undergraduate, and PG Diploma programs. Those who are eagerly waiting to enroll in any course shall apply either online or offline. Online application is available at PU’s official portal. Admission to any course is based on marks scored in a qualifying examination. Applicants are instructed to enroll themselves before an expected due date of 15 November 2024. To register for any program candidates have to fulfill all admission criteria set by Pondicherry University. Candidates have to provide an email ID and contact number at the time of registration. 

Pondicherry University UG Admission 2024

Several graduate courses offered by Pondicherry University are BBA, BA, and BCom. A different variety of disciplines are offered under these courses some of them include Journalism & Mass Communication, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology. UG-level programs usually have a duration of 3 years divided into 6 semesters. Admission to UG courses has been started at PU and students can apply till an expected date of 15 November 2024. 

Degree program admissions are provided based on merit. Candidates who want to pursue a degree level program must score a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2. Registration fees at PU range between INR 200 to INR 300. Undergraduate course fee ranges from INR 8000 to INR 10000 annually.

Pondicherry University offers multiple postgraduate level courses like MA, MCom, and MBA in specializations like English, Sociology, Finance, Hindi, HRM, Tourism, etc. Postgraduate courses last for 2 years which is spread across 4 semesters. However, maximum duration offered to candidates is 4 years. Admission to PG courses is open till 15 November 2024. 

Eligible candidates applying for PG courses must have a UG degree in a relevant subject with at least 55% marks. Applicants applying have to pay a registration fee of INR 200 to INR 300. Pondicherry University postgraduate course fee through distance education ranges between INR 11000 to INR 25000. 

Registration Fee at PU Distance Education

Candidates who wish to enroll in a specialized course through undergraduate, postgraduate, or postgraduate diploma programs have to register themselves at Pondicherry University. Registration portal is open till an expected date of 15 November 2024. Before submitting an application candidates need to deposit a registration fee that is set by PU. INR 200 is required to be paid by candidates who belong to reserved category while INR 300 needs to be deposited by general category. Online payment gateway available at PU are UPI, Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, and Online Wallet. However, candidates who enroll through offline mode can pay an application fee through demand draft.

Step 2: Check Requirements: Make sure you meet the admission requirements.

Step 3: Click the “Register Now” button to start your application process.

Step 4: Enter your email, name, ID Proof, and phone number to create your new student ID.

Step 5: Applicants can log in to the admission portal through their registered email address and password. 

Step 6: Complete all required information in the application form like academic and personal details. 

Step 7: Upload the important documents listed in an academic prospectus.

Step 8: Make sure all details are filled out correctly.

Step 9: Pay a registration fee using a credit/debit card, UPI, or other options.

Step 10: Click on the “Submit Button” tab. 

Step 11: Print a copy of your completed application for your records.
