LLB Distance Education?: LLB stands for Bachelor of Laws or Bachelor of Legislative Laws is an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree program offered through regular mode. This program aims to provide advanced knowledge of several legal aspects covering a wide range of fields such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Property Law, and Corporate Law. A minimum duration required to complete an LLB course is 3 years and it can extend up to 5 years. Each university offers a semester-based examination. Currently, universities like IILM University, Chandigarh University, and Lloyd Law College are inviting applicants to apply for LLB program for 2024-25 session. Online admission portal has been closed on 30 September 2024*. CLAT and AILET are two of the popular entrance exams conducted for admission to LLB program. Students are advised to go to a particular university’s official website to enroll in LLB program. 

Note: Candidates can only pursue LLB program through regular mode in India as certified by UGC-DEB.

Eligibility Criteria for LLB Distance Education:

In order to take admission to LLB (Bachelor of Laws or Bachelor of Legislative Laws) courses at any university candidates have to meet all the admission criteria. The admission to this course shall be done on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in a respective entrance test. Following are some of the points mentioned for admission to LLB program: 

• Having a passing percentage of 45% is necessary for admission to any specialized LLB course. 
• Some institutes have set an upper age limit for admission to be 30 years.
• Applicants have to sit in a respective entrance exam such as CLAT and AILET. 
• If candidates belong to ST, SC, or other backward classes they get a relaxation of 5% in their qualifying marks.

After completing higher secondary education several students pursue law as their higher education. Candidates can pursue either higher education or work as a lawyer after the completion of the LLB course.
