TNOU Distance Education Admission 2024: Admission for the Tamil Nadu Open University through distance mode has been closed for the academic cycle 2024-25. Some of the academic programs offered at the university are undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational diplomas and certificates under a wide range of specializations. If students desire to get admitted in any selected program shall have applied before the due date of 15 November 2024. Admission to the selected program is offered based on the marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination. The university offers a total of 113 distance courses under UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate programs and the university has 13 academic schools. TNOU Distance Education Admission Process 2024

For distance courses, Tamil Nadu Open University doesn’t consider state or national-level entrance exams. Instead, admission is granted based on the student’s academic performance and previous qualifications. Students shall fill out the admission form while going through the admission portal of the TNOU. Students are suggested to go through the admission prospectus provided to them while enrolling for any course. Candidates must ensure they submit the application form before the expected last date of 15 November 2024. 

Eligibility Criteria of TNOU

Tamil Nadu Open University offers several courses like Undergraduate, Vocational Diploma, Postgraduate, and Certificate through distance mode. The academic requirement for each course may vary depending on the different specializations. . Before applying online, check your eligibility regarding minimum required age, educational qualification and experience for the programmes applied for. TNOU generally offers admission on the basis of merit. But, some programs may have additional eligibility requirements. Applicants who want to pursue a BEd program have to hold a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. TNOU eligibility requirement are listed below: 

• Any bachelor’s degree with a duration of minimum of 3 years from a recognized university in any specializations is needed for admission to PG level. 
• Students are selected on the basis of marks obtained by them in their higher secondary examination for getting enrolled to undergraduate degree. 
• Applicants can enroll in any program as there is no age restriction. 

TNOU UG Admission 2024

Multiple undergraduate specialized courses offered at the TNOU are BA, BSc, BSW, BBA, BCom, and BPA. This UG covers several specializations such as Psychology, Apparel and Fashion Design, Islamic Studies, Social Work, Drama and Theater Studies, and Visual Communication. UG course duration lasts for 3 years and maximum duration to complete the same is 4 years. Admission for the UG program has already started, and the students are advised to apply before  last date i.e. 15 November 2024. Interested students can apply by visiting the institute’s website. 

Application fee for the UG program is INR 500. TNOU offers an undergraduate program through a merit-list. Students must have scored at least 50% in 10+2 level to get admission in the UG level programs. The average fee for this program is INR 14500 to INR 23400.  

TNOU PG Admission 2024

Postgraduate program ranges for 2 years which is separated across 4 semesters. Tamil Nadu Open University offers various PG level courses some of them includes MA, MCom, MSc, MSW, and MBA. These courses are specialized in several disciplines including Criminology & Criminal, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Botany, Zoology, Justice Administration, and many more. 15 November 2024 was the deadline announced by the TNOU for taking admission. 

Those applying for this program shall make sure they meet all basic criteria. Having a bachelor’s degree is mandatory to get admitted at TNOU for any master’s program. TNOU PG course fee varies between INR 4650 to INR 13300 annually. While applying for the desired program applicants need to pay a registration fee which falls for INR 500.  

TNOU Diploma Admission 2024

Several specializations the Tamil Nadu Open University offers for Diploma degrees are Wildlife Tourism, Archeology, Journalism, Media Art, Nutrition and Health Education, and Tourism and Tour Operation Management. Students who wish to pursue desired courses are suggested to apply before the due date from the official website. Online registration is ongoing and the deadline to submit the application was 15 November 2024. The duration of the Diploma specialized courses is 1 year and 2 semesters. 

Students who have completed the 10+2 from a recognized university are eligible for admission for the academic year 2024-25. The average one-year fee for various specializations is around INR 2000 to INR 9200. A registration fee for a Diploma course at TNOU ranges for INR 500. 

TNOU Certificate Admission 2024

Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) offers certificate programs in the fields of Modern Techniques & Technology in Teaching,  Emission Standards, ICT in Functional Tamil, Conservation Techniques, Brain Based Learning Techniques, and Climate Change. The online application deadline to fill out a registration form was 15 November 2024. One can successfully complete a certificate program in 6 months. 

The registration fee for the certificate specialized program is INR 500. Admissions are based on the score of an intermediate exam. An average fee structure of this course is INR 1500 to INR 7300.
